Structured Data
NexGen, unlike almost all online survey Companies, uses properly structured data in brand and product hierarchies to enable fast and accurate comparisons across all our surveys.
In most online questionnaires the questions and answers are simple text fields. For example a brand is just a name typed into a box.
This may be slightly faster in the very short term but is lazy! It makes comparing data across surveys difficult if not impossible. In one survey the Programmer may have typed “Boots No. 7”, in another “Number 7” and, then again, maybe the product was grouped into “Stores Own Cosmetics”.
This “loose format” data is unacceptable in most Data Warehouse, or Executive Information Systems, so much of the longer-term investment in your research data is wasted.
At NexGen we take the trouble to structure your questions and answers into a Microsoft
SQL Server relational database. We do this to your specification so that future analysis ACROSS surveys is every bit as simple as within a single survey. Unlike conventional surveys data collected by us is easily transferred into your Data Warehouse.
